Pinson Road fence replacement project underway

FORNEY, Texas — A project to replace approximately 2,800 linear feet of fencing along Pinson Road is well underway.

FORNEY, Texas — A project to replace approximately 2,800 linear feet of fencing along Pinson Road is well underway.

The project, funded through the Pass Through Toll Program for the Pinson Road four-lane expansion, was approved by the Forney City Council in December 2015, with the $103,750 project being award to Crown Fence Co. of Wylie, Texas, following a bidding process approved in October 2015.

The Pass Through Toll Program for Pinson Road called for a concrete wall sound barrier along the corridor but many residents were opposed to a concrete wall and the fence, an eight-foot, stained board-on-board fence, was recommended.

“The new fences will reduce road noise and enhance the aesthetics of the corridor,” according to the item’s agenda briefing.

All but three homeowners along the corridor agreed to the replacement of their fences.

The project is expected to be complete in April 2016, weather permitted.
