FORNEY, Texas — Portions of the Forney Community Park trail system will be closed until the first week of September due to construction, according to the City of Forney.
The closures began yesterday, Monday, July 27, 2015, and will close the two Holly Leaf trail heads and the portion of the trail in the wooded area nearest the auxiliary fields. An alternate path will connect the northern portion of the wooded trail to the southern trail through the auxiliary fields south towards the Mick Spellman Amphitheater.
The closure is due to construction of a parallel sewer line along the Main Street/Holly Leaf area extension.
“The project is scheduled to be completed around the first week of September,” according to the City of Forney.
