KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Three public meetings are scheduled for later this month to allow Kaufman County and the firm preparing the county-wide transportation plan an opportunity to receive the public’s input.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Three public meetings are scheduled for later this month to allow Kaufman County and the firm preparing the county-wide transportation plan an opportunity to receive the public’s input.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Kaufman High School cafeteria located at 3205 South Houston Street in Kaufman, Texas. The second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Herman Furlough Middle School cafeteria located at 1351 Colquitt Road in Terrell, Texas. The third meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Forney High School cafeteria located at 800 FM 741 in Forney, Texas.
The information presented at both meetings will be identical and it will only be necessary to attend one of the meetings, according to a press release from Freese and Nichols, the firm contracted by the county to complete the county-wide transportation plan.
“This county-wide plan will be coordinated with locally adopted city plans as well as the plans and programs of adjacent counties and Texas Department of Transportation,” states the release. “The plan will place an emphasis on regional connectivity and will guide the County by identifying the location and type of transportation needs to meet anticipated short and long range growth.”
The Kaufman County Transportation Plan is expected to be completed in December 2015.

6:30 p.m. Presentation and general Q & A
7 p.m. – 8 p.m. Information stations; small group input and discussions
