ROCKWALL, Texas – The Rockwall Police Department said they are continuing to investigate an accident involving one of its patrol officers which occurred Friday night, August 22, 2014.
ROCKWALL, Texas – The Rockwall Police Department said they are continuing to investigate an accident involving one of its patrol officers which occurred Friday night, August 22, 2014.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:37 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 276 and T.L. Townsend Drive. “As the officer was passing through the intersection of T.L. Townsend Drive and State Highway 276, the patrol unit collided with another motorist,” stated Rockwall Police Department Sergeant Aaron McGrew.
The patrol unit was a marked 2013 Chevrolet SUV purchased by the department in March 2013 and the other motorist was in a black sedan. The officer and the occupant of the sedan were transported to area hospitals where they were treated and released, according to McGrew.
