SEAGOVILLE, Texas — The Seagoville Police Department is releasing the photos of three vehicles in hopes of contacting the occupants of the vehicles for information regarding a fatal motorcycle crash earlier this month.
On Friday, August 7, 2015, 20-year-old Josh Edmonds of Seagoville, Texas, was struck and killed by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 175 after laying his motorcycle down on the highway, according to police. The accident occurred on westbound US Highway 175 on the Mallory Bridge overpass just after 7 p.m.
Seagoville Police Department Captain Ray Calverley says evidence suggests Edmonds, for unknown reasons, laid his motorcycle down in the right-hand lane of the highway. Calverley says the motorcycle stayed in the right-hand lane based on scrape marks on the pavement and Edmonds drifted into the left lane where he was struck by the motorist while still on the ground, as indicated by damage done to the vehicle.
Police have continued to investigate the crash to determine what caused Edmonds to lay his bike down. ““We won't stop until we've dotted every I and crossed every T,” stated Calverley.
“Through the investigation police have been able to obtain video capturing the conclusion of the accident and is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the three vehicles pictured, Calverley stated in a Friday release. “Accident Investigators believe the occupants of these three vehicles may have witnessed the causation of the crash.”
