KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Kaufman County until 10 p.m.
“There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms across all of North and Central Texas this afternoon through tonight,” the National Weather Service (NWS) stated. “Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary weather threats. Locally heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning may accompany any of the thunderstorms.”
Storms are beginning to develop from Bowie to Mineral Wells to near Gatesville and are moving northeast at approximately 30 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
The stronger storms, which are expected to remain to the west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, according to a NWS graphicast, will be capable of large hail, damaging wind gusts, and heavy rainfall.
