KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Kaufman County until midnight tonight.
A line of storms northeast of a Bonham, Texas, to Emory, Texas, line from the north are moving south at approximately 35 miles per hour. The storms have weakened some during the last hour, according to the NWS but remain strong with a potential for gusty winds up to 50 miles per hour and dangerous cloud to ground lightning.
Other threats with this watch include quarter sized hail and heavy rain in amounts of one-half to one inch.
The storms are forecasted to reach a line from Corsicana, Texas, to Crockett, Texas, around 9:15 p.m. tonight.
The watch also includes the following counties: Anderson; Cherokee; Freestone; Henderson; Houston; Leon; Limestone; Nacogdoches; Navarro; Panola; Rockwall; Rusk; Shelby; and Van Zandt.
