KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — In anticipation of heavy rains, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flash Flood Watch for most of North Texas, including Kaufman County, until 1 a.m. Thursday.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — In anticipation of heavy rains, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flash Flood Watch for most of North Texas, including Kaufman County, until 1 a.m. Thursday.
“The ground remains saturated from excessive rainfall which has occurred across much of the region during the last week,” stated the NWS. “Locally heavy rain will be possible through tonight which could lead to flash flooding.”
Localized rainfall totals could be as much as three inches in places, according to the NWS.
Most of the rain and showers will remain non-severe, according to the latest graphicast issued by the NWS. However, as the showers and thunderstorms approach unstable air in the area south of Interstate-20, the storms have the potential to develop into severe storms with a low chance of tornadoes. This area includes southern portions of Kaufman County along a line south of Interstate-20.
