KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Some strong to severe storms are possible for Kaufman County on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.

"On Tuesday, strong storms will be capable of producing hail up to around 1 inch," stated the NWS. "On Wednesday, some severe storms will be possible, especially along and east of I-35, where hail, damaging winds, or an isolated tornado are all possible."

Heavy rain and isolated instances of flooding could occur either day due to the recent widespread rainfall and saturated soils.

Tuesday morning's thunderstorms are expected to exit the area to the northeast in the evening hours.

Thunderstorm chances will return Wednesday and Wednesday night with severe storms with primary hazards of producing large hail, damaging winds, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, according to the NWS.

Patchy fog with less than one mile of visibility is also expected in the morning hours, according to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the NWS.

Thunderstorms will also return to the region on Saturday night into Monday.
