KAUFMAN, Texas — A teenager was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital following a pedestrian wreck at Kaufman City Lake Park on Friday morning.
According to Kaufman Police Chief Dana Whitaker, a person was on the hood of a moving vehicle and fell off at an unknown speed. The person was transported by a CareFlite medical helicopter in unknown condition to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
The Kaufman Police Department is investigating the crash with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
City Lake Park will be closed for an undetermined amount of time while authorities conduct the accident investigation, according to Whitaker.
The Kaufman Independent School District Police Department, Kaufman Fire Department, and Kaufman County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office responded to the scene. This is a developing story.
