Terrell Police received a Texas Department of Transportation reimbursement grant allowing officers to work the special assignment specifically tasked with DWI Enforcement.
“We are mindful of how impaired driving claims thousands of innocent lives on our roadways every year and we want to do our part to reduce these tragedies.” said Captain A. D. Sansom of the Terrell Police Department.
In Texas, anyone driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher is considered legally impaired.
The Terrell Police will have increased police patrols out at various times throughout the two holiday periods of Christmas and New Years. “We desire for all to have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekends without fear of a DWI involved motor vehicle crash,” said Kenneth Moore, grant coordinator.
