TERRELL, Texas — The City of Terrell and the Terrell Police Department will break ground on their new police headquarters building on July 13, 2015.
The ceremony will be held at the site of the new headquarters building at the corner of State Highway 34 and Rose Street on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 9 a.m.
The approximately 36,000-square-feet, two-story headquarters building will consolidate police operations currently being conducted in two separate buildings, according to officials, and will house forensics, criminal investigations, a new 30-person jail, a communications/dispatch center, a 100-person capacity training/community room, and space for the municipal judge to conduct arraignments.
The approximate $12.5 million facility will be funded through certificates of obligation.
