KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department knocked down a pasture fire, which included approximately 15 hay bales and six large brush piles, west of Terrell, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department knocked down a pasture fire, which included approximately 15 hay bales and six large brush piles, west of Terrell, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department received a call about the fire located between Farm-to-Market (FM) 1392, FM 598, and Quail Lane. The fire burned approximately four acres of land, 15 hay bales, and six large piles of brush which had been pilled up to clear the land for sale.
A crew working the property was on scene at the time of the fire, however, its cause is unknown at this time. The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the fire.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department has visited the property at least two other times for burn violations.
“Burning shall not be commenced when surface wind speed is predicted to be less than six miles per hour or greater than 23 miles per hour during the burn period,” according to The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
