FORNEY, Texas — Thousands of canned and boxed food items were donated to the Forney Food Pantry during the Unity Bowl Food Drive this year.
“Students, parents and staff members donated thousands of canned and boxed food items over a two week period leading up to the Unity Bowl, the annual football game between Forney High School and North Forney High School,” stated the district.
“We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming support form the community during this year’s Unity Bowl Food Drive,” stated Forney Food Pantry Business Manager Katie Vrana. “You’re willingness to give to others in need in your community is exactly what the Unity Bowl embodies — a community united.”
The Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps gathered the food donations and delivered them to the pantry last week.
