FORNEY, Texas – The Bois D' Arc Street, Elm Street, and Center Street railroad crossings in downtown Forney, Texas, are blocked by a stalled Union Pacific train on the railroad tracks.
FORNEY, Texas – The Bois D' Arc Street, Elm Street, and Center Street railroad crossings in downtown Forney, Texas, are blocked by a stalled Union Pacific train on the railroad tracks.
A knuckle connecting two train cars on the westbound traveling train blew just before 2:30 p.m. The train's engineer expects the crossings to be reopened by 3:30 p.m. A witness reported hearing a loud explosion just prior to the train stalling which was the sound of the knuckle failing. Engineers are replacing the knuckle.
The Chestnut Street crossing is not blocked by the train but the railroad crossing arms are down. Cars are driving around the railroad crossing arms. The Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 crossing remains open.
