FORNEY, Texas โ€” Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate-20 Thursday night โ€” in the backup of another major three-vehicle crash involving two 18-wheelers.

The crash was reported around 11 p.m. on westbound Interstate-20 just east of the Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 exit where police had the highway closed due to an earlier three-vehicle accident.

One vehicle struck another vehicle forcing it strike a third vehicle, according to Talty Police Department Chief Mike Hoskins.

Thee individuals were transported to Dallas-area hospitals in serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Mesquite Fire Department, Mesquite Police Department, Forney Fire Department, and the Talty Police Department responded to the crash.

Two vehicles were towed from the scene.

Interstate-20 was closed at FM 740 due to the earlier crash west of FM 740. The Texas Department of Transportation responded to place blockades on the highway to divert traffic through Forney, Texas, to U.S. Highway 80.
