KAUFMAN, Texas — Three separate wrecks caused major delays on U.S. Highway 175 in the Kaufman area on Tuesday afternoon.
The wrecks occurred within a short period of time in a construction zone on eastbound U.S. Highway 175 just west of the State Highway 243 spur, according to Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black.
In total, two people were transported to area hospitals by CareFlite ambulances and a third, an unidentified woman, was taken by a CareFlite medical helicopter to a Dallas-area hospital. Their current conditions are unknown.
At one point, the highway was closed and traffic was diverted off the highway at Farm-to-Market (FM) 2578 and onto the south frontage road.
