Three wrecks causing delays on Interstate 20

FORNEY, Texas — Two wrecks are causing delays on Interstate 20 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 on Saturday afternoon.

FORNEY, Texas — Two wrecks are causing delays on Interstate 20 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 on Saturday afternoon.

Initially, just after 3:20 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a wreck involving a heavy-duty wrecker and an 18-wheeler on eastbound I-20 on the FM 741 overpass. The right lane of I-20 has been closed while emergency personnel are on scene.

The 18-wheeler was reportedly having engine issues and had slowed just prior to the wreck as it traveled over the overpass.

Just after 4 p.m., a second wreck was reported in the same location on westbound I-20 involving to vehicles. This wreck resulted in the closure of the left lane.

No injuries were reported in either wreck.

The Forney Fire Department, Mesquite Fire Department, Mesquite Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, CareFlite, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the initial wreck. Forney responded, from the initial wreck, to the second wreck.

A third wreck was reported just after 5 p.m. and involved a truck, hauling another truck, which rear-ending an 18-wheeler just prior to the initial wreck on eastbound I-20. Again, no injuries were reported in this wreck. The trailer and the truck became disconnected in the wreck.
