FORNEY, Texas – A two-vehicle accident on Thursday morning temporarily closed the westbound service road of U.S. Highway 80.
The accident occurred before 11 a.m. on the westbound service road near CYA Guns and Ammo. Two vehicles were involved in the accident – a grey Ford Mustang and a white Chevrolet service van.
The Mustang sustained front end damage and the van sustained rear end damage. The accident forced both vehicles off the road. The Forney Police Department closed the westbound service road at the Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 onramp to westbound U.S. Highway 80.
One patient was transported by an East Texas Medical Center ambulance to Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, with unknown injuries.
Several drivers on the westbound service were stopped by the Forney Police Department for driving around the road closure. At least one person was given a citation.
