FORNEY, Texas β€” A truck crashed through a fence and into the Travis Ranch community pool on Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., the truck went through the stop sign from Mule Deer Road into a t-intersection at Travis Ranch Boulevard β€” continuing straight, up a curb, through a fence, and into the community pool. The truck crashed into the shallow end of the pool.

The water level rose midway up the doors and the driver of the vehicle was able to safely exit the vehicle without injury.

The Forney Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and a CareFlite ambulance responded to the crash. A heavy-duty wrecker was called to remove the truck.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Travis Ranch Homeowners Association hopes to have the pool opened by summer time following necessary repairs, the association said in a statement.

"The Board of Directors is aware of the accident over this last weekend involving the pool and would like to assure you that measures have already been taken to obtain the necessary bids for repairs," stated the association on their website. "Essex Association Management is working closely with the Board to address this matter and preparations for bids and repairs are already underway. Every effort will be made to ensure the pool opens on time for the upcoming pool season. Your patience and cooperation during this process is greatly appreciated."
