CRANDALL, Texas — Two Crandall Police Department officers were involved in a crash Saturday morning on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 and transported to an area hospital, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
CRANDALL, Texas — Two Crandall Police Department officers were involved in a crash Saturday morning on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 and transported to an area hospital, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 13, 2016, three Crandall Police Department patrol vehicles were responding to a 911 call in Heartland when the accident occurred, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Trooper Kyle Bradford.
As the units were approaching Heartland, the first patrol vehicle began to slow and was rear-ended by a second patrol unit, according to Bradford. The first unit went off the road and struck a tree. The second unit remained on the roadway.
Both officers were transported to Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, with non-life threatening injuries. Both have since been released, according to Crandall Police Department Chief Bill Kilgore.
The Crandall Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, CareFlite, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash.
