FORNEY, Texas — Two people were injured and one was extricated from their vehicle following a Jeep vs. 18-wheeler crash on Interstate 20 on Wednesday afternoon.
FORNEY, Texas — Two people were injured and one was extricated from their vehicle following a Jeep vs. 18-wheeler crash on Interstate 20 on Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck was reported at approximately 5:15 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 20 near the Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 exit ramp. A Jeep rear-ended an 18-wheeler trailer and entrapped the driver.
The wreck occurred in the backup of a previous fatal crash on Interstate 20 which occurred near mile marker 503 earlier today. The fatal crash has the highway closed with traffic backed up for several miles. Four 18-wheelers were involved in this crash and resulted in the loads of a couple of the 18-wheelers being spilled onto the road.
The Forney Fire Department, CareFlite, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to this crash. One individual was taken by ambulance to Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, and one individual was transported to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas.
