FORNEY, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation has begun the U.S. Highway 80 frontage and ramp rehabilitation project spanning from Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 to Spur 557.
The 8.1-mile project will rehabilitate frontage roads and ramps from west of FM 460, also known as Clements Drive, to Spur 557 — which is east of the city limits.
The project is expected to be substantially complete in the spring of 2016, according to Texas Department of Transportation representative Michelle Releford. APAC-TEXAS, Inc., was awarded the contract for $9.6 million.
Editor’s Note: A previous version of the story said TxDOT had also begun the ramp “relocation” project. However, that project is still in the design phase and will begin at a later date.
