SEAGOVILLE, Texas — Westbound U.S. Highway 175 in Seagoville was closed Friday night due to a fatal motorcycle crash, according to police.
A motorcycle was involved in a crash on westbound U.S. Highway 175 on the Malloy Bridge overpass Friday night, Seagoville Police Department Captain Ray Calverley told inForney.com.
The driver of the motorcycle, for unknown reasons, laid his bike down on the highway and was struck by another motorist, stated Calverley.
Both westbound lanes were closed Friday night as accident investigators pieced together the crash scene. All westbound traffic was diverted off the highway at the Malloy Bridge exit.
The motorcyclist was identified by police as 20-year-old Joshua Paul Edmonds of Seagoville, Texas.
Last month, a Seagoville man was killed in a motorcycle crash on eastbound U.S. Highway 175 near Stark Road.
The initial report, based on preliminary investigation information, indicated Edmonds was struck as he attempted to stand up. Further investigation determined Edmonds was struck while still on the ground. The article has been changed to reflect the correct information.
