KAUFMAN, Texas — Weather permitting, on August 1 and 8, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin intermittently closing the mainlanes of U.S. Highway 175 for bridge construction.
According to Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Michelle Releford, on August 1, 2015, the westbound lanes will be closed at 15-minute intervals for beam placement on the new State Highway 34 bypass bridge.
The eastbound lanes will be closed on August 8 for beam placements on 15-minute intervals.
The closures will be conducted at night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to Releford.
“Motorists are asked to be mindful of construction workers next to the roadway. Backups are possible and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes,” stated Releford.
