FORNEY, Texas — The closure of U.S. Highway 80 this weekend in Forney has again been rescheduled due to the potential for hazardous winter weather.
FORNEY, Texas — The closure of U.S. Highway 80 this weekend in Forney has again been rescheduled due to the potential for hazardous winter weather.
Now, weather permitting, both eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 80 will be closed between Windmill Farms Boulevard and County Road 212 on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Both directions will again be closed that Saturday night at 10 p.m. and reopened by 6 a.m. on Sunday.
The highway will be closed to allow Texas Department of Transportation crews to replace bridge signs over the highway.
During the closures, traffic will be diverted onto the frontage roads which are currently under construction as well for resurfacing.
Major delays are expected throughout the area and the Texas Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to seek alternate routes.
