TERRELL, Texas — Both eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 80 have reopened in between Terrell and Forney following a two-vehicle crossover, rollover crash.
The crash was reported at approximately 11:45 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 80 near Homer Circle in the Lawrence area.
Two vehicles were traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 80 when they made contact, struck a cable median, and crossed over into the westbound lanes, according to officials. A truck involved in the crash overturned several times.
One person was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, by CareFlite medical helicopter, in unknown condition. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment, according to firefighters.
Both eastbound and westbound were closed to allow the helicopter to land on the highway. Eastbound was reopened at approximately 12:30 a.m. Westbound was reopened at approxiamtely 1:07 a.m.
Crews are working cleanup on a large amount of debris on both sides of the highway.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
