FORNEY, Texas — A Union Pacific train struck a vehicle early Saturday morning at the Helms Trail railroad crossing just south of U.S. Highway 80.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. and involved an unoccupied silver passenger vehicle. The train attempted to stop but struck the vehicle.
The vehicle, which only sustained rear-end damage, was left on the tracks unattended before the accident, according to police.
