FORNEY, Texas —Three people were arrested Wednesday in connection with a home invasion and robbery in the 400 block of Redbud Drive in Forney.
In a Wednesday press release, police say they were first alerted of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Redbud Drive and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Police discovered a weapon in the vehicle and detained the driver.
During the traffic stop, officers observed a male exit a nearby home with a duffel bag and, upon seeing the officers, ran back inside the home.
The officers approached the house and knocked on the door and heard someone inside calling for help. The officers entered the home and found the resident tied up on the floor, according to the release. Two suspects inside the house fled out the back door.
Officers with the Forney Police Department and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two fleeing suspects in the Chicken Express parking lot on Pinson Road — less than a mile from the residence.
Police identified the three suspects as Larry Eugene Ransom III of Dallas, Texas, Darius Franchot Madden, Jr., of Mesquite, Texas, and Ray Emmitt Madden of Forney, Texas.
Each were charged with burglary of a habitation, a first-degree felony, and engaging in organized criminal activity, also a first-degree felony. Ray Madden also faces a charge of criminal mischief for causing damage to the patrol vehicle he was placed in. Arraignment is pending for the three suspects and no bond information was available at the time of press.
