FORNEY, Texas — A vehicle overturned after a collision with an 18-wheeler on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 on Sunday night which sent two people to a nearby hospital.
A passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on FM 548 just after 11:30 p.m. when it collided with a southbound 18-wheeler, according to police. After the collision, the passenger vehicle swerved off the road, overturned, and came to a rest on its wheels — one, of which, was ripped from the vehicle during the collision.
The 18-wheeler was attempting to back a flat-bed trailer into a private drive off of FM 548 but its unclear if the trailer had crossed into the northbound lanes at the time of the collision. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash to determine which vehicle is at fault and any other factors which may have led to the collision.
The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were transported by CareFlite ambulance to Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale. No injuries were reported in the 18-wheeler.
