COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — Firefighters from College Mound, Elmo, Kaufman, and Terrell are working to extinguish a residential structure fire on Taylor Road in eastern Kaufman County.
COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — Firefighters from College Mound, Elmo, Kaufman, and Terrell are working to extinguish a residential structure fire on Taylor Road in eastern Kaufman County.
The fire was first reported at 4:05 p.m. in the 6000 block of Taylor Road in College Mound just north of Farm-to-Market (FM) 429. First responding firefighters reported a double-wide mobile home was fully engulfed in flames.
As of 5:24 p.m., firefighters remain on scene working to extinguish the fire which continues to burn on the north side of the house. The home was already completely destroyed in the beginning stages of the fire.
Fire officials report there are no injuries despite initial reports one of the residents may have been inside the home attempting to rescue animals. It’s unknown if any animals perished in the fire.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene and will investigate the fire. As of this report, no information was available.
The American Red Cross has been requested at the scene.
