CRANDALL, Texas — Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire on Sunday morning, November 30, 2014, which completely destroyed a Crandall home.
CRANDALL, Texas — Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire on Sunday morning, November 30, 2014, which completely destroyed a Crandall home.
The Crandall Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the fire on North 2nd Street around 6 a.m. and requested assistance from surrounding agencies for a two-story residential structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters initially made entry but were quickly forced to fight the fire defensively from outside.
A backhoe was called to the scene to demolish unsafe walls to allow fire investigators access to the structure.
A man who lives in the home was able to escape with his dogs. No injuries were reported. Red Cross was on scene to provide assistance.
The fire continues to be under investigation by the Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Kaufman Volunteer Fire Department, Scurry Volunteer Fire Department, Combine Volunteer Fire Department, Seagoville Fire Department, and the Forney Fire Department assisted in fighting the fire.
