FORNEY, Texas — A vehicle fire forced the closure of westbound U.S. Highway 80 on Wednesday night.
At 9:18 p.m., the Forney Fire Department was dispatched to westbound U.S. Highway 80 just east of Windmill Farms Boulevard near Helms Trail and Townsend Road.
The vehicle, a sedan, was burning on the right shoulder of the highway which forced the closure of westbound U.S. Highway 80 while firefighters were extinguishing the fire.
The driver of the vehicle was able to safely evacuate and no injuries were reported.
