KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Kaufman County just after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The watch will be in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday and includes surrounding counties and most of North Texas.
“Some of these storms will be severe with large hail and damaging winds,” according to the NWS. “A few tornadoes will also be possible.”
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Kaufman County was canceled around 8:40 p.m. Skies are expected to clear overnight with isolated showers and storms which may produce small hail, frequent lightning, and gusty winds, according to the NWS.
