FORNEY, Texas — The westbound Interstate 20 ramp from Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 is closed due to a crash which caused a large fuel spill on the road.

The crash was reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. on FM 1641 near Interstate 20. A box truck crossing FM 1641 was t-boned by another truck which caused the fuel tank to be ruptured — spilling approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel onto the road.

The fuel spilled on the westbound Interstate 20 onramp from FM 1641 — forcing the closure of the onramp while a hazardous material cleanup crew works to cleanup the spill.

A heavy-duty wrecker was requested to tow the box truck. The Forney Fire Department, Talty Police Department, and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office responded.

No injuries were reported. The onramp will remain closed until further notice.

This is a developing story.
