FORNEY, Texas — Westbound U.S. Highway 80 near the Dallas-Kaufman County line was closed Thursday afternoon while a CareFlite medical helicopter landed to transport at least one patient from a rollover crash.
FORNEY, Texas — Westbound U.S. Highway 80 near the Dallas-Kaufman County line was closed Thursday afternoon while a CareFlite medical helicopter landed to transport at least one patient from a rollover crash.
The crash was reported at approximately 3:45 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 80 near the Kaufman-Dallas County line and forced the closure of the highway. The left lane was re-opened at approximately 4:30 p.m. after the helicopter departed for a Dallas-area hospital.
The vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its roof on the north embankment of the highway.
Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 is also experiencing delays due to two additional crashes — one major and one minor. The Sunnyvale Volunteer Fire Department was notified of the eastbound crashes.
The Forney Fire Department, Forney Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, and a CareFlite ground ambulance also responded to the westbound crash.
