Wettest year on record surpassed overnight in Dallas-Fort Worth

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — At 12:14 a.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, measured 3.18 inches of rain at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) airport — bringing the year total to 53.56 inches and making 2015 the wettest year on record since 1991.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — At 12:14 a.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, measured 3.18 inches of rain at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) airport — bringing the year total to 53.56 inches and making 2015 the wettest year on record since 1991.

1991 saw 53.56 inches of rain followed by 51.03 inches in 1932 which was previously ranked the second wettest year on record. Also in 1991, 1.04 inches of rain was measured during the month of November and 8.75 inches of rain in December.

As of 1:04 a.m., 5.42 inches of rain had been measured at DFW airport, according to the NWS.
