KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, for Kaufman County was upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning late Sunday night.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, for Kaufman County was upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning late Sunday night.
The Winter Storm Warning for Kaufman County remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015. Sleet accumulations are forecast between one-half to one inch with locally heavier amounts. Some light ice accumulations are also expected with any freezing rain.
“Most of the sleet will hold off until early Monday morning, but roads will become ice covered and hazardous on Monday,” according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the 20s Monday and below freezing into Tuesday morning which may result in any accumulated ice to linger on area roadways.
The main impacts from this storm are ice accumulations which will make travel hazardous, according to the National Weather Service. Expect ice on bridges and elevated roadways.
