FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School softball alumni is inviting the community to a benefit softball and home run derby this Saturday to benefit the Emily Galiano scholarship and memorial fund.
FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School softball alumni is inviting the community to a benefit softball and home run derby this Saturday to benefit the Emily Galiano scholarship and memorial fund.
Forney softball alumni team members will play in the Angel in the Outfield game on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 5 p.m. in honor of Galiano who was tragically killed last month in an accident following a team dinner.
The game will be held at the Forney High School softball field at Mulberry Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. and there is a $5 admission.
Additionally, there will be a home run derby which is open to the public with $5 per ball or $10 for three balls. Derby winners get $100.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Emily Galiano Scholarship and Memorial Fund established by the Forney Independent School District and the Galiano family.
On June 21, the Texas Rangers will host a Forney Softball Recognition Night as they take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:05 p.m. Tickets purchased through the promotional link, www.TexasRangers.com/schools, will be eligible for a $3 donation to the Play for Em Foundation.
