FORNEY, Texas — Here’s a look at your 2017 varsity football schedules for Forney High School and North Forney High School, both in District 15-5A.
North Forney High School, under new head football coach Randy Jackson, will start play with a scrimmage against South Garland on August 25 before moving to three non-district matchups against Mount Pleasant, Carrollton Creekview, and Spruce which will be their homecoming game on September 15.
The Falcons first district matchup will be held September 22 against Wylie East at City Bank Stadium.
The Forney-North Forney cross-town rivalry matchup is scheduled for the last district game of the year on November 10 at City Bank Stadium.
Forney will travel to Waco for their scrimmage against Elgin on August 18 followed by four non-district matchups against Carrollton Creekview, Berkner, Lindale, and Terrell.
District play for Forney begins September 21, a Thursday matchup, against Poteet High School at City Bank Stadium.
Both teams are competing in very competitive district with Highland Park, defending state champions, and Mesquite Poteet which was ranked 3rd in Class 5A, Region II in the Texas High School Coaches Association’s Preseason Poll.
District 15-5A contenders who also received votes in the preseason poll for Top 10 placement were Wylie East, West Mesquite, and Lucas Lovejoy.
