ROYSE CITY, Texas Something special is building in Forney. The Lady Rabbits are no longer just on a winning streak — they’re making history. And on Tuesday night, they’ll look to take one more giant step when they face Wylie East in the UIL 6A Regional Final, a collision of two surging programs with everything on the line.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1st, in what promises to be a high-stakes, high-drama battle at Royse City ISD Stadium.

Forney enters with a jaw-dropping 21 consecutive wins, now boasting a 22-1 record after dispatching Tomball 2-0 in a clinical playoff performance. Goals from Annabelle Vasquez and Kyleigh Johnson sealed the deal, and showcased the balanced attack that’s powered this postseason run. Combined, the duo has netted 18 goals on the season — and they’re far from done.

But as impressive as the attack has been, the Lady Rabbits’ defense may be the story of the season. Over their last 10 matches — all wins — they’ve conceded just two goals, frustrating opponents with relentless pressure and airtight back-line cohesion.

Now comes perhaps their biggest test.

Wylie East (19-2-1) is riding a wave of its own — an eight-game win streak, during which they’ve steamrolled opponents by an average margin of 5.6 goals per game. Their most recent test was a gritty 1-0 win over the Bulldogs — proof that this team can win with fireworks or finesse.

But the Lady Rabbits aren’t blinking.

“We are excited to play Wylie East,” said sophomore forward Addison Smith. “They’re a great team, and we believe we’re well matched. It’s the playoffs — we know it’ll be physical and intense. But we’re ready for the challenge.”

Senior striker Kylie Williams added: “We plan on treating this like every other game. We respect Wylie East, but we’re confident in our style. We need to be physical, win first balls, and play the game our way.”

Johnson, the senior veteran and emotional core of the squad, echoed the mindset that’s carried Forney all year.

“We know this will be a battle,” she said. “But if we play to our potential, we can win. We proved last game that we can go toe-to-toe in a physical game — now it’s about executing again.”
