TERRELL, Texas — A large quantity of methamphetamine was seized during a traffic stop in Terrell on Friday.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., a Terrell Police Department officer observed a white Chevrolet S10 pickup traveling south in the 1300 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on the entrance ramp to eastbound Interstate 20.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Alicia Adams of Dallas, Texas, did not have a driver's license of ID card and could not provide insurance for the vehicle.
Adams gave consent to search the vehicle and, during the search, officers located a clear plastic baggie with a crystal substance, believed to be methamphetamine, in the passenger door panel, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
A package of distribution baggies, a digital scale, and three additional baggies of suspected methamphetamine were also located in the glove compartment box.
A field test of the narcotics returned presumptive positive for methamphetamine. The total weight of the narcotics was 74.83 grams.
Adams and the passenger, identified as 27-year-old Taylor Henderson of Winnsboro, Texas, were arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams. Adams is being held at the Kaufman County Jail on a $75,000 bond and Henderson on a $150,000 bond.
