TERRELL, Texas — 25-year-old Darrius Dashone Johnson Jr, who was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Billy Gardner Jr. on May 28, 2018, has been extradited to Kaufman County.
TERRELL, Texas — 25-year-old Darrius Dashone Johnson Jr, who was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Billy Gardner Jr. on May 28, 2018, has been extradited to Kaufman County.
Johnson was arrested in June 2018 in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park by National Park Service rangers who were conducting a traffic stop on Johnson's vehicle because he was allegedly not wearing a seatbelt.
That seatbelt infraction brought to closure a nationwide manhunt for Johnson.
Johnson was booked into the Kaufman County Jail at 1 a.m. Thursday and is being held on a $1 million bond.
