FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating a burglary of CYA Guns and Ammo early Saturday morning — the third burglary at the location since April 2017.

Around 2 a.m., Forney police officers responded to a burglary alarm at CYA Guns and Ammo, located 206 East U.S. Highway 80, and observed forced entry into the building.

The first responding officers made entry, observed possible indications the burglary suspects were still inside the building, and pulled out of the building to establish a perimeter. The Forney Police Department was assisted by the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, the Precinct 2 Constable's Office, a K9 unit, and SWAT members in clearing and securing the building.

Just before 7 a.m., the all-clear was given for the building and investigators began processing the scene. The suspect or suspects remain at large, according to police.

After review of the property from the business owner, no property was reported taken from the location, Forney Police Department Chief Robert Sherwin told inForney.com.

Last year, CYA fell victim to two separate burglaries in a matter of two months. Several arrests were made in both incidents. Additional security measures were implemented around the building at that time.
