TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell native is among the victims of an accused Houston-area serial killer who was apprehended earlier this morning.

46-year-old Jose Gilberto Rodriguez is in custody following a police chase in northwest Harris County on Tuesday morning after an alert citizen notified police of a gray Nissan Sentra, being driven by Rodriguez, that was among the center of an overnight manhunt.

28-year-old Allie Barrow, a Terrell native, was found shot to death on Saturday night at a Mattress Firm store, where she was employed, in the 7000 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 1960.

Police believe Rodriguez is linked to several recent violent crimes beginning on at least July 9th with a home invasion in northern Harris County. On July 13, during another Cypress-area home invasion, Rodriguez allegedly killed Pamela Johnson, a widow, and stole her PT Cruiser.

That PT Cruiser was found at Willowbrook Mall on Saturday where Rodriguez was captured on mall surveillance video. The mall is not far from where police believe Rodriguez, intent on robbery, shot and killed Barrow at Mattress Firm.

On Monday morning, a Metro Lift driver was shot during a robbery at a Houston-area gas station. A few hours later, a man, identified as Edward Magana, was shot and killed at a mattress store on Interstate 45.

The manhunt for Rodriguez came to an end on Tuesday morning following a brief police chase.

Barrow had attended Sam Houston State University and the Aveda Institute of Houston, according to her Facebook profile.
