HEARTLAND, Texas — A traffic stop in Heartland on Monday afternoon yielded two arrests and the recovery of a stolen vehicle and a firearm.
A Crandall Police Department officer on patrol in the Heartland neighborhood stopped a vehicle on a traffic-related offense, Crandall Police Department Chief Dean Winters told inForney.com.
The vehicle, upon inspection, had been reported stolen. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop and instructed eight individuals out of the vehicle.
Among them, were several suspected in an aggravated robbery in Dallas and one juvenile, of many in the vehicle, was reported missing out of Mesquite. Additionally, police recovered a firearm from one of the juveniles.
The adult driver was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Another adult was arrested on unknown charges. Charges against the juvenile will be filed at-large due to the ongoing aggravated robbery investigation in Dallas, according to Winters. Six of the vehicle's occupants were released without charges.
The arrested individuals have not been identified pending book-in at the Kaufman County Jail.
This is a developing story.
