FORNEY, Texas — Two Forney High school students remain in custody tonight for making terroristic threats at school on Friday according to law enforcement officials and Forney ISD.
In a statement posted to the district’s Facebook page Sunday night, on Friday evening a student reported to a teacher overhearing two other students making terroristic threats. The teacher reported the allegations to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, which resulted in an investigation and “swift arrest” of two juvenile students.
The two juveniles who were detained Friday evening without incident according to authorities, are being held at the on third degree felony charges for making a terroristic threat. The students will remain in custody at the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center in Dallas until they are magistrated before a Kaufman County judge on Tuesday morning. The Kaufman County Courthouse is closed on Monday in observance of Veteran’s Day.
“Safety is our top priority, and the trusting relationship between our students, teachers, and our officers help us quickly assess situations to ensure student and staff safety,” the statement said.
The district later updated their post that Forney High School parents would be receiving an email from the district Sunday night.
This is a developing story.
