The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on SH 34 just outside the city limits of Kaufman.

Preliminary investigation reveals a red Chevy S-10, driven by 23-year-old Jacob Jacquez of Kaufman, Texas, was driving southbound on SH 34 when he crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck another vehicle with a mother and her 5-year-old daughter inside, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford.
