COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — Three residents were displaced after their College Mound-area home was destroyed by a fire on Tuesday afternoon.
COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — Three residents were displaced after their College Mound-area home was destroyed by a fire on Tuesday afternoon.
At 5:02 p.m., the College Mound Fire Department was dispatched to the 2300 block of County Road 122 for a residential structure fire.
Firefighters leaving the station reported heavy black smoke in the direction of the residence and requested mutual aid from the Kaufman, Elmo, and Terrell Volunteer Fire Departments.
The homeowner reported all the residents were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
"Firefighters arrived to a fully involved single wide mobile home," stated the College Mound Fire Department. "Because of structural integrity of the home and the volume of fire a defensive attack was performed."
The home was completely destroyed in the fire.
No injuries were reported however, three residents were displaced and received immediate assistance from the American Red Cross.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.
