KAUFMAN, Texas — A 70-year-old man was rescued from a collapsed structure in Kaufman on Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:38 p.m., on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, the Kaufman Fire Department was dispatched to a structural collapse in the 100 block of East Ninth Street, according to Kaufman County Fire Marshal Randy Richards.
There, rescuers found a 70-year-old man entrapped in the collapsed structure.
"Kaufman FD deployed their hydraulic rescue tools and successfully rescued the victim within 10 minutes," stated Richards.
The man was alert, oriented, and did not appear to have any serious injuries, according to Richards. He refused transport to a hospital.
Responding departments included Kaufman FD, Kaufman PD, Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office, Kaufman County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, and CareFlite.
All emergency responders cleared the scene by 4:10 p.m.
